Who is Simi? 

I'm Simi, and I live on the Mornington Peninsula along with my husband and two children, Finn and Chilli and our groodles, Bear and Teddy. I have been in fashion for 20 years in many roles, owner of a sales and marketing agency and founder of Peggy, a girls clothing brand.  I have a deep passion for travel and yoga, and always managed to weave this into my work.  Travelling to India and Bali, always adding on some extra time, under the slight guise of "work" to explore.  

Over the years I decided to venture way beyond my fashion comfort zone and study yoga, breathwork and trauma informed yoga... Driven by my deep-rooted passion for wellness, and a good sprinkle of courage, I have most recently made the leap into a marketing role at Aurora Spa and Bathhouse. A big shift from little people clothing to the wellness industry, I am working with an incredible team and exploring lots of opportunities in this space.

What are your passions in life? 

I am passionate about wellness, yoga, pilates, nature and just moving my body, and mind!

Most significantly I am fiercely loyal to my family and friends.  They are my inner circle, my everything.  They are far and wide, mixed, old and new, and I would do anything for each of them.

What is the lesson in life you live by?

That I am enough and the present moment is where I am meant to be.  

Also the immense value of courage!  Without it personal growth and evolution become so difficult!

How do you practise self-care / self-love?

For me it's routine, and it takes discipline.   I cannot function without exercise, or movement.  That means I wake at 5.30am to fit in what I need.  This routine of a class every morning and a walk on the beach with the dogs gives me energy and mental clarity. You may not see me out past 9pm though, and I do love a 6pm dinner booking like a true Nana!

Why do you think self-care is so important?

For me day to day "micro" self care, like exercise, is crucial to clear my mind, regulate my moods and set me up to start the day. The bigger "macro" self care for me revolves around personal growth and development, in the form of study, or a wellness retreat.  This time last year I was in India at the Ananada which was incredible, however we have so many options available right here on the Peninsula which are accessible to everyone, whether it's a day retreat hiking, a 2 hour yoga retreat, a breathwork journey or a cold plunge

How do you ensure you prioritise the time to focus on your wellness journey?

Getting up super early!  It's the only way.  Getting out of my comfort zone and just saying yes!  

Who inspires you the most and why?

My daughter, Chilli, serves as my greatest teacher and motivator.  She woke me up many years ago, and has taught me to be courageous, and what it means to be authentic by pursuing your passions.

What is your favourite FRII[S]MITH product and why?

I am [power] active cleanser and facial puff!  I love how clean my skin feels.  The only issue is my greatest teacher above, also LOVES FRII[S]MITH, and it's constantly disappearing.  Bring on a larger bottle please!!!

What does radiance mean to you?

When I think of someone being radiant, I think of a person that listens, that is genuine, and generous of heart.  When I think of them or speak of them, I cannot help but smile.
